Support, ENcourage and Develop for Children, Inc. (SENDforC): Award-winning 501(c)3 Charitable and Educational Nonprofit OrganizationWe aim to provide outstanding student-driven K-12 STEM research initiatives and educational programs to foster entrepreneurship among youth and to solve tangible community issues.K-12 students are often discouraged from pursuing science and engineering due to a lack of clear learning purpose and a lack of approachable role models to seek advice and bring content to life. Through an immersive outreach program, SENDforC is able to make scientific research approachable, fun, hands-on and relevant to many students, including those who may not have access to such opportunities. High School students thrive in an individualized learning environment throughout the two year program available to partnership schools. Three subject-areas ("tracks") are available: Hard Sciences, Engineering and Computer Science - each with their own distinct educational philosophy and pedagogy, with multidisciplinary curricula which teaches analytical research skills. Based on their interests, high school students are paired with high-achieving, "human and relatable" undergraduate students as mentors as they develop their research and community projects.-- Live in San Diego and Davis, CA with remote positions available.Become involved as a mentor and join the movement!
