The Federal Agricultural Mortgage Corporation, commonly known as Farmer Mac, is a stockholder-owned, government sponsored enterprise or "GSE"​ created by Congress to improve the availability of long-term credit for America's farmers, ranchers, rural homeowners, businesses and communities.
