The School of Medicine at Acibadem University was founded in 2007, and initially accepted students in 2009. The faculty has been performing its educational activities in one of the most advanced basic sciences campus in Turkey, which is Kerem Aydinlar Campus and Acibadem Halkali Hospital since 2013.Well-qualified and competent academic staff educates our students at the highest professional standards to gain scientific knowledge, practical and behavioral skills in numerous fields to provide them with high quality healthcare service capabilities as well as high level of scientific curiosity.Medical education is in English in our school. It is comprised of three phases, namely the Basic and Clinical Sciences, Clinical Clerkship and Internship Programs. The courses within the program are based on an integrated curriculum that addresses the systems in the organism through a holistic approach from the elementary units such as cells to the complex systems and pathologies. Moreover, the program of introduction to medical profession, referred as the Clinical Medicine and Professional Skills (CMPS) ensure the provision of the students with the knowledge and the skills necessary for the practice of medicine. The program is designed to encompass communication skills. These applications facilitate the encounter of the students with real patients during the clinical practice. It is enriched with the field trainings conducted at family healthcare centers, and also enable the improvement of intellectual skills and human values. The Clinical Clerkship program implemented for the fourth and fifth graders enable the students to experience one-to-one encounters with real outpatients and inpatients in hospital environment, and so to improve their clinical knowledge and skills.
