Electromech Technologies, located in Wichita, Kansas, specializes in the manufacture and overhaul of AC/DC motors, blowers and actuators for the aerospace and military markets. The Company began in 1968 when seven entrepreneurs had a dream and started the Company in the back room of one of their homes.Electromech soon outgrew the humble beginnings and in 1970 the Company moved to a larger facility and began development of its DC motor, rotary and linear actuator lines. As the Company's reputation for quality work, rapid response time and problem solving became known; the business continued to grow and in 1973 moved to its current location on South Custer. Over the next ten years, and through several building additions, the business continued to prosper.In 1986, Vickers acquired Electromech. Ten years later, Electromech was sold to Western Sky and in 1999 was acquired by McKechnie. In 2005 McKechnie was acquired by Melrose PLC. In 2008, the McKechnie group was purchased by JLL and rename McKechnie Aerospace group.
