Specialist Trainer - PROACT-SCIPr-UK® at Loddon Training & Consultancy - N/A, N/A, GB
The Loddon School was founded by Marion Cornick in 1988 as a charitable trust to provide a much residential school for children who could no longer live at home because of their exceptional support needs. The Loddon School is both home and school to up to 30 children and young people aged 8-19 who have the most severe and complex learning difficulties and autism. The school has established a reputation for its whole person approach to teaching and supporting children with exceptional needs. The school's approach focuses on personalized care and support in an environment where children can relax and learn skills for life. One where education and care are delivered in a proactive, positive and therapeutic environment.Central to our ethos is safeguarding of children and young people, teaching pupils to manage their own behaviors and develop coping strategies. The Loddon School bases its philosophy on ‘Positive Behavior Supports' and non-aversive methods of behavior support within the philosophy and practice of PROACT-SCIPr-UK® and the PLLUSS curriculum both developed by the School. The School does not have classrooms as our pupils do not learn best in that way, although there are one or two subject bases (Art and Music). Instead Loddon incorporates learning. The majority of pupils are non-verbal and are taught other forms of communication such as Makaton and Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS).
