Founded in 2014 Wolfman Books is a small independent bookstore, publisher, and event space, located in downtown Oakland. Wolfman sells new and used books, including zines and artist books, with an emphasis on local Bay Area artists and writers. Wolfman publishes books focusing on the intersections between visual art and nonfiction, including The Black Aesthetic, and Wolfman New Life Quarterly Magazine. An open public community hub for artists, writers, and downtown neighbors, the bookstore regularly hosts free or low cost readings, performances, workshops, concerts, exhibitions, film screenings and other events.
