Merlyn Power is a growing company focused on renewable energy systems and energy efficiency in residential andcommercial buildings. We've been in operation since 2003 and have installed approximately 140 different solarenergy systems in Waterloo Region and the surrounding area.Our full range of work includes: - consulting on the energy and resource efficiency of new buildings - service of older solar water heating and pool heating systems - design of solar energy systems for thermal and electric applications - installation of solar energy equipment and drainwater heat recovery exchangersAt present the company employs 3-5 people through the year.The founder of the business, Scott Cooper, is a mechanical engineering graduate (2002) from the University of Waterloo with 7 years experience in the field of solar energy. Scott is also a Certified Energy Advisor working with the Residential Energy Efficiency Project, a non-for profit delivery agent for the federal ecoENERGY program.Installations of our systems usually occur March through to the end of December and we are taking calls and emails year round. At present we don't have a showroom, but we're happy to make housecalls to evaluate the feasibility of a renewable energy system and provide free estimates/quotes on all our work.Our operations are covered by a current $2 million general liability insurance policy and all employees are WSIB insured.
