LIMPAL, which stands for "Liga Internacional de Mujeres por la Paz y la Libertad" is the Colombian section of WILPF, the oldest women's peace organization in the world.LIMPAL is a pacifist, feminist, anti-militarist, non-profit organization that works for the promotion and defence of women's rights and the promotion of peace-building activities in Colombia. In the country, LIMPAL works with women who have been, directly or indirectly, victims of the internal armed conflict.Furthermore, LIMPAL works for a greater inclusion of women in the reintegration process, especially with women who re-integrated since 2012 when the government and the FARC started the negotiation process.Since 2011 LIMPAL Colombia is working to ensure the full respect of the Resolution 1325, adopted by the UN Security Council, which reaffirms the crucial role that women play not only in the prevention of conflict but also in the process of conflict resolution and in the maintainance and promotion of peace and security.In Colombia, LIMPAL is present in different departments of the country, namely: Bolivar, Meta, Caquetá, Nariño, Putumayo, Norte del Santander y Chocó.
