Executive Director at Asheville City Schools Foundation - Asheville, North Carolina, United States
Founded in 1988, the Asheville City Schools Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) organization whose work strengthens opportunities for students and educators in Asheville City Schools. Our mission is to collaborate with our community to do whatever it takes for all Asheville City Schools students to thrive. Our work impacts over 4,200 students and over 700 educators each year through after-school programming, grants to educators, youth leadership development, teaching artist classroom residencies, emergency assistance for ACS families, community engagement, and college scholarships. ACSF reimagines our collective influence on our public schools through innovative funding, programs, and partnerships. Since 2010, ACSF has awarded over $1.9 million directly to educator-led initiatives and over $3 million to students through scholarships. In Real Life After-School has served over 2,200 unduplicated students and counting since 2010. ACSF believes that our organization is a conduit for student voice; we utilize our human resources and financial capacity to bring their vision for our school community to life. We believe that investing in our youth yields the greatest return for our community. We invite individuals, schools, organizations, and businesses to partner with us to continue delivering transformational experiences for Asheville's children.
