LET'S GO partners with schools and youth organizations to deliver fun, hands-on STEM activities to students K through 8th grade. The focus is on underserved students as this is where the greatest need is currently. Our students participate in hands-on project based learning in the areas of robotics, science/engineering, and math.Since January 2009, the LET'S GO team has focused on learning how to inspire and support students to enter and persevere in the country's STEM education pipeline as a stepping stone to becoming STEM professionals. We have progressed from theory and goals to proven results. LET'S GO's approach is two-fold. There is a front-end and back-end model. Front End: Having produced 10 STEM curriculum manuals, our staff has the knowledge and resources to train teachers to execute our activities. We enable schools and youth organizations to start up and sustain an out of school STEM education program with a goal of moving them towards self sufficiency within 3 years. Back End: LET'S GO has developed a methodology to report the important metric: ‘STEM Yield' (STEM Yield = Number of STEM students / Number of total participating students). In an effort to answer the question "How many students have entered and are persevering in the country's STEM education pipeline, we track students through our STEM education pipeline.
