Cathartic Consulting is a boutique psychology practice, which provides specialist consulting in the area of Forensic Psychology. Cathartic Consulting consists of two Principal Practitioners and a number of subcontractors. All staff are Psychologists registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency and both Principal Practitioners have been practicing for more than ten years. All ten of the Psychologists have completed a Doctorate of Psychology or Masters of Psychology Degree. Nine of the team have completed degrees that are specific to Forensic Psychology with six of the team having completed a Doctorate of Psychology (Forensic). In addition, all of the team have experience in group facilitation and most have experience in teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels within the School of Psychology at Deakin University or Bond University. The team have a depth and a breadth of experience working across the lifespan with victims and offenders, including those with an intellectual disability. Specifically, team members have experience providing offence-specific (violence, sexual and alcohol and other drugs), and offence-related (e.g., trauma) interventions both in custody and in the community. The team also have experience completing risk assessments, writing assessment, treatment and psycho-legal (court) reports (both civil and criminal), developing and delivering training, program development, providing individual and group supervision, providing individual and group based intervention programs.
