Boreham House is a stunning Grade I listed Stately Home. It is the only privately owned Stately Home in Essex and is set in 35 acres of picturesque grounds. The mansion has a driveway lined with cherry trees where between is a breathtaking formal lake. Inside the House itself your are surrounded by history, a great deal of the original features have been retained. Boreham House was originally built around 1730 for Benjamin Hoare Esq, who commissioned prominent architect Henry Flitcroft and Sir James Gibb to design the house and it was embellished with fine marbles and artefacts included the Henry VIII staircase from New Hall dating 1517. In 1931 Henry Ford purchased the estate and set up Fordson Estates Ltd, this was eventually passed onto Ford Motor company in 1952 and onto private ownership again where millions were spent on restoring it to its former glory. The House is now an exclusive Wedding and Asian Wedding Venue. It also hosts large Corporate Meetings, Hospitality, Celebrity Events, Product Launches, Team Building Days and open air Festivals and Sporting Events. The Henry VIII Suite is a fantastic space and will accommodate up to 600 Theatre Style and 400 Dining. The Pavilion, designed with floor to ceiling windows and beautiful views of the grounds, seats up to 400 Theatre Style and 320 people dining. The outside space also attracts a great number of clients with the ability to erect additional Marquee Space for large numbers. Although our Oak Room is specifically used for our Civil Ceremonies, all of our suites are licensed for Civil marriage. Boreham House has a very dedicated Events Team.
