Located in the Southern Riverina and bordering Victoria, our Council is situated amongst majestic sweeping plains, magnificent red gum forests and is surrounded by the mighty Murray River and it's tributaries. With an area covering 11,865 square kilometres and a population of around 11,887 residents we have almost one resident per square kilometre who enjoy our vast and growing region.Living in the Murray area offers activities and events for all ages and interests. Our collection of great towns and some of nature's finest backdrops make us an obvious choice to host major events attracting many visitors to the area all year round. Locals and visitors both enjoy activities on the river and surrounds, the beautiful wildlife, water sports, bush walks, bike trails while staying at the caravan parks or camps sites in great locations throughout our region.
