Uncommon Schools is a nonprofit organization that starts and manages outstanding urban public charter schools that close the achievement gap and prepare students in high-poverty, high-need areas to graduate from college. Uncommon currently manages 57 schools serving more than 21,000 K-12 students in six cities: Boston, Camden, New York City, Newark, Rochester, and Troy.At Uncommon Schools, we believe education can be a powerful catalyst for change in our communities. Our graduates go on to earn college degrees at five times the rate of low-income students nationally. We're deeply committed to closing the achievement gap for our students while also preparing them for college and beyond through academics, enrichment programs, extra-curricular activities, and a positive, welcoming school culture.
