The mission of USESOM is to develop skilled and compassionate physicians, through innovative educational approaches in conventional and complementary health sciences, to serve the expanding global need for comprehensive, quality health care. We are extraordinarily sensitive to the unique needs, prerogatives and challenges of international medical students. We have years of experience overseeing international students' seamless transition into mainstream clinical training, research and practice opportunities. The tangible rewards are great. The intangible rewards are priceless. A medical degree confers a measure of pride, respect and flexibility unprecedented in other professions. The successful practice of medicine today is a team effort hence the culture of medical education should foster a spirit of collaboration rather than rivalry.
