Established in 2020, the Hydrogen Energy Research Centre (HERC) is a collaboration between UNSW Sydney and Providence Asset Group. HERC will be Australia's premium precinct for hydrogen energy and an internationally renowned research centre with the objective to accelerate the growth of the hydrogen and renewable energy industry. HERC combines research, testing, production and engagement under one roof, enabling the rapid translation of research that will accelerate the adoption of hydrogen technologies in industry and communities, achieving positive impact to society while driving sustainable and economically viable practices to combat climate change. HERC will develop innovative approaches to efficient, cost-effective hydrogen energy generation and networking along with novel social, political, regulator and legal frameworks necessary for a successful energy transition.
