Our mission is to have five-hundred citizen marchers walk, bike, blog and drive alternative-fuel vehicles across the USA. We will hold a nationwide conversation on sustainability and create measurable change through action, interaction, education and entertainment; affecting individuals, organizations, corporations, local, national and world governments. Green City is the infrastructure within the Great Green March peopled by individuals and families of all ages from various backgrounds, states and countries coming together with the intention to create, educate and implement solutions for sustainability. Green City is interactive, educational and entertaining. Green City will have all the elements of a city in its own right: a governing council and mayor; a K-12 school, radio station, post office and town halls created from green retro-fit mobile structures; kitchen, sewage and water facilities, cineplex, and market place. It will be a culture crossing the country with a common goal to create immediate, measurable and lasting change. Over the next 14 months Portland, Oregon, the most sustainable city in the nation, will birth The Great Green March and Green City. Departure will be the summer od 2010. Our destination is Washington, DC; however...it's the journey.
