Dance Marathon is the University of Iowa's largest student organization and third largest Children's Miracle Network Dance Marathon of over 300 across the nation. Year-round, we host many events each month including family events, fundraising and Dancer events, and our Big Event. The Big Event is a 24-hour Dance Marathon where students come together to celebrate the children survivors, remember the children who have passed away, and support the children who continue to fight to defeat pediatric cancer. At the University of Iowa, you will find the brand new Stead Family Children's Hospital. After the groundbreaking in 2012, the hospital opened its doors to children across the globe in 2017. After making a 10 year, $5 million pledge to the new building, the 11th floor was named the University of Iowa Dance Marathon Pediatric Cancer Center. This project is just one of the many we are able to make because of our incredible student leaders, partners, and sponsors.Mission Statement: The University of Iowa Dance Marathon creates and sustains special projects to provide emotional and financial support and services for pediatric oncology and bone marrow transplant patients and their families treated at University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital.Vision Statement: Through inclusivity, unwavering optimism, and the courage to challenge tradition, Dance Marathon 25 is an opportunity for each individual to recognize their worth and shape their impact. With acts both large and small, we will fill the hearts of the children and families –– the inspiration behind our lime.
