In 1988 Joel & Gloria Torres branched out on their own and started Taquito Joes at 8530 Bellaire Blvd, the goal was to serve homemade food cooked fresh everyday and cooked to order with a fast food twist, and we stayed at that location until 2003.In 2000, Joel, Gloria, & their son Jacob changed the name to Sunrise Taquitos, and went to limited hours; (Just Breakfast & Lunch.)In 2003 after the property owners decide to change the building, Joel and Jacob opened their new location at 6855 Highway 6 S. where they operated for 5 years, and they opened their 2nd location 5601 Memorial Dr. in 2007.When after 5 years the Hwy 6 location landlord also decide to redo the property, Joel in 2008 relocated to their current location in Spring, TX.This year Joel Torres took on a partner, Dan Schultz with 37 years of restaurant experience, most recently 14 years as a Multi-Unit manager with Whataburger.The company is now look to expand and grow; 1st stop Katy, TX!
