In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxRiceU, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxRiceU event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.We hold two types of event mainly: 1. Salon eventsRice students will have the opportunity to speak in front of their peers about relevant topics in the spirit of their own ideas worth spreading. These events are held throughout the Fall and Spring semester.2. TEDxRiceU main eventOur main event invites speakers from the local community to deliver talks and spark discussion.
