The International Institute of Rural Reconstruction [IIRR] is one of the world's leading rural-focused NGOs. Since 1960, our mission has been to help empower rural communities so that they can take charge of their own success. Our programs across health, education, environment, and livelihoods have been delivered in over 50 countries, directly impacting the lives of more than 10 million people.Africa and Asia are home to nearly 90% of the world's rural population, currently estimated at approx. 3.4 billion people globally. That is 45% of people on Earth.
