The Living In Place Institute (LIPI) is dedicated to partnering with professionals to make homes safe - healthy -comfortable for everyone, regardless of the individual's age. The need for a safe and accessible home applies to all everyone, not just the growing baby boomer demographic and general population of elderly, home bound, physically and mentally challenged individuals, patients recovering from recent surgeries, injuries or other health issues. LIPI provides world class education, training and certification to medical professionals: occupational therapists (OTs), physical therapists (PTs) and geriatric specialists; and non-medical housing industry professionals such as real estate and home care professionals, home design, construction industry experts and home inspectors. Consumers who engage with a "Certified Living In Place Professional" will be assured they are working with trained, screened and approved individuals with appropriate insurance coverage, licensing and/or certifications, and background checks.
