The American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) is a national non-profit 501(c)6 that sets and promotes standards for property inspections and to provide the educational programs needed to achieve excellence in the profession and to meet the needs of its members.ASHI started in August 1976 and has created the Standard of Practice that most home inspectors use in the course of the home inspections they perform every day.
