Landslag Ltd. are consulting landscape architects with a broad range of experience in planning and design and have become Iceland´s largest studio in the field of landscape architecture. The practice, founded in 1963 by Reynir Vilhjálmsson, has grown gradually from the early days of private practice to its present level as a limited company. The company now has11 employees including the partners. The scope of work spans a broad range of landscape planning and design, from master planning to more detailed landcape design. Landslag is engaged in collaborative work with leading consultants from interdisciplinary professions in the design process such as architects and engineers. The company has participated in many winning proposals in architectural competitions through out the years and has gained much experience in large-scale landscape design under the harsh Icelandic circumstances, as well as the more detailed smaller scale of projects. In 2003 the studio was awarded a special mention at the Rosa Barba European landscape prize award ceremony for the design of Avalanche Protection Structures in Siglufjordur. In 2011 the studio achieved the award "Best Nordic Publicspace" at Arkitekturmassan in Gothenburg, Sweden the design of Harpa public space.
