Melody Motors Ltd was incorporated in June, 1961 when Mike Madraga and partners took on the American Motors franchise. After a warranty dispute that the company wouldn't look after, Mike chose to look for another brand to sell that was more customer friendly. In 1964 Ford asked if he would consider selling the Mercury line. Mike agreed but wanted to sell the Ford line as well as it had more variety and was better known. Within two years Mike and his partners were dual line dealers, selling both Ford and Mercury. As time progressed Mike began buying out his partners until only his family remained. Mike retired in 2000 but regularly can be found in the lounge visiting with his many longtime customers. With Kim, Ken and Kevin taking things over the dealership continued to grow in sales and service until they could no longer offer the same great service that their customers had grown accustomed at their lifelong 115 Burrows Ave. East location in downtown Melfort. Mike always said "If you can't service it you shouldn't sell it" so being landlocked this meant looking for a new location. They purchased their current location at 1560 Saskatchewan Drive in 2011and after two years of planning and visiting dozens of other dealerships they built their current state of the art facility that they now call home. Dubbed the largest rural Ford dealership in Canada they moved in September 2012 and began the next chapter in the Melody Motors Ltd. history. Kim retired in 2013 and now Ken and Kevin look after the operations of Melody Motors Ltd.
