JWH Ross is the oldest Scottish company offering its services to the minerals sector, with a pratice history extending back to 1838. We hold the largest single collection of Mining Records in Scotland, with more than 10,000 detailed mining plans, thousands of mineral investigation reports and tens of thousands of mineral borehole records in our archive.Today we are principally involved in the legacy of past mining activity, where instability from shallow underground mine workings and mine entries can hinder the development of otherwise viable sites or affect the intregrity of existing properties. With our vast archive of geological and mining information, JWH Ross can provide detailed desk-based investigation of sites which may be affected by past mining. We also specialise in the design and procurement of site investigations where desk-based research indicates that further clarity is required, providing in-depth interpretation of borehole and excavation results to establish the best and most cost-effective solutions.
