Formearth was sparked by the idea that walls can be built affordably and sustainably with local earth and using onsite machinery. We start with a reusable building material 'earth'; then add our machinery to build affordable rammed earth walls.Rammed earth exposed, has an earthy aesthetic, though with a thin coating of lime has a modern plastered look. Rammed earth is fire and sound resistant and has high thermal mass which reduces the need for active climate control.We are also working on developing a deep understanding of earth material for building great rammed earth walls. Every person has a human right to a safe and nice home, and rammed earth will help to make this real.
