We use running as a mechanism through which to promote goal-setting, commitment and resilience among high-school students in need.The program involves theoretical and practical components as students prepare themselves to complete a goal race, usually between 10km and a half-marathon in length.Learning about, and employing goal-setting, commitment and resilience capacities in the preparation for their goal-race, students also develop the confidence and ability to apply these skills, beyond the finish line, to all aspects of their lives.
