With promotion and enlargement comes greater pressure, harsher attacks and relentless temptation. If the leader's foundation of character is not deep enough, the promotion he receives will ultimately bring his downfall. Many in leadership today are remarkably talented. Financial abundance, fame, popularity and pride, attention from the opposite sex coupled with a lack of accountability bring pressure upon a faulty foundation that is unable to withstand the seditious nature of success. Tragically, the result is often told in the headlines from every arena of leadership. Men and woman in church, corporate, civic and political offices, entrusted with a leadership mantle, fall prey to the peril of building without a firm foundation. Since 2001, Global Leadership Training has been emphasizing need for character in leadership.
