National Science Technology and Innovation Policy Office (STI) was established under the National Science Technology and Innovation Act, promulgated on 13 February 2008. The office is a non-bureaucratic, government-owned juristic person that maneuvers in commission with the policy guidance from the National Science Technology and Innovation Policy Committee (NSTIC), chaired by the Prime Minister of Thailand.The institution of the office is considered significant in providing support to the government in terms of science, technology and innovation policy formulation, coordination, as well as policy promotion. The office is committed to assist the country in moving towards knowledge-based economy in order to promote the country's capacity and strength.
