In all hospitals, whether digitally advanced or otherwise, clinicians on the wards are still writing their jobs list, during the morning ward round, on a piece of paper. This makes capturing the data of day-to-day patient tasks extraordinarily difficult for hospitals. But in this data lies the key for understanding where dead space in the patient journey lies and therefore in enabling strategic changes to pathways as well as better operational insights. All of which will lead to reductions in length of stay and improved outcomes, not to mention a reduction in information governance breaches related to paper task lists.We've developed a tool which enables this data to be captured robustly. Patient task data acquired by our platform is combined with outcomes, such as length of stay, tasks per patient, and mortality. Artificial intelligences then applied to predict these outcomes whilst a patient is still in hospital - enabling clinical and operational actions to optimise the individuals progress through the care journey.Moreover, knowing and predicting the number, density and type of tasks generated by each group of patients facilitates the identification of resources required to preemptively release bottlenecks in the delivery of care; and our task management platform can feedback intelligent task recommendations to close-the-loop on improving care.Through this cycle of task-date, to outcomes prediction, to task recommendations - Lister is transforming hospitals, powering the sustainable improvement in quality and effectiveness of care.
