Mount Michael Wines, at the breathtakingly beautiful Lowburn, Central Otago, presents perfect growing conditions for Pinot Noir with its extremes of temperature and mineral rich soils. Our sunny northeasterly aspect on a gentle slope running down to the lake provides all the right elements for reducing the risk of frost. The estate is boutique by any standard, producing around 3,000 cases of wine annually. Our vines are hand-tended with yields kept low to augment concentration in the fruit. Mount Michael Vineyard is planted in 7.5 hectares of primarily Pinot Noir with a small amount of Pinot Gris.
