Instrutora de Mindfulness em Formação pela MTI at MTi - Mindfulness Trainings International - Botucatu, São Paulo, Brazil
Mindfulness Training International - MTi, is a secular mindfulness protocol. Developed in Brazil by Jangchub Reid and Verena Reid, MTi offers "Strategies of Mindfulness" - programmes to train instructors and trainers of instructors. One of the essential characteristics of MTi is its commitment to the foundations of secular practice and an approach that is consistent with scientific knowledge. Its unique feature is the re-visioning of the language of pedagogy in relationship to meditation. The training process used by practitioners in MTi emphasises the maintenance of the essential intentions of practising mindfulness as in the traditional environments. The programme consists of a foundational 8 week mindfulness course offered by instructors formed in the MTi protocol. In order to be able to apply for the mindfulness instructor training modules, the student has to first conclude the 8 week course and develop an authentic daily meditation practice. The mindfulness practices, as we know them today in the West, were introduced in a non religious form in secular environments by experienced academics and practitioners of Buddha Dharma. Both Jangchub and Verena were meditation and dharma students of the master Namgyal Rinpoche, also known as Ven. Ananda Bodhi.
