Assessing Educational Competencies, LLC (AEC) is an educational consulting organization that focuses on providing support to school districts, school administrators, and educators, as well as state agencies. The AEC mission is to foster educational excellence among Mississippi's public school children as well as students throughout the United States. AEC offers superior quality in services, which include development of assessments, professional development, using curriculum to raise test scores, and comprehensive school improvement. AEC, formed in January 2009, is located in West Point, Mississippi. While AEC is a relatively new company, the owners and employees are seasoned veterans with decades of experience and are highly respected in their professional fields. At the present time, AEC owners Dee Berry and Donna Davis work with the MDE to provide the training development and conduct the training for teachers administering the MAAECF and to provide Technical Assistance to the MDE on MAAECF-related tasks. AEC staff currently work in 32 Mississippi school districts and one district Georgia, the regional service centers PREPS, EMCED, and the Gulf Coast Consortium, and the Mississippi Department of Education.
