Shine [Safer Homes In New Zealand Everyday Trust] is a national anti-domestic abuse charity committed to making homes violence free. We provide a range of services all aimed at helping victims of domestic abuse become safe, with a focus on helping victims to remain safely in their own homes. Services include: * National Helpline 0508-744-633, operating 7 days/week, 9am to 11pm * Crisis intervention and advocacy for victims, primarily referred by Police * Women's refuges and transition housing – short term safe accommodation in Auckland central and North Shore for women and children, and two transition homes for longer term safe accommodation * KIDshine - helping children exposed to domestic abuse become safe and begin to heal * No Excuses – group and individual men's stopping violence programmes * Professional Training – extensive training programmes & seminars delivered nationally and locally * Violence Intervention Project in health sector - rolling out routine family violence patient screening in all District Health Boards, particularly in Auckland District Health Board and Auckland primary health services.
