Founded as an orphanage in 1883, Lutheran Child and Family Servics is a faith-based organization that provides a wide range of social services to support children in crisis and vulnerable families. Today, Lutheran Child and Family Services is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) member agency of the United Way of Central Indiana and provides residential treatment to boys and girls ages 6-21 at Lutherwood Residential Treatment Center and Lutherwood Academy, in partnership with Indianapolis Public Schools.
