Common Ground Queensland is the first supportive housing initiative in the state. The principles developed in the successful New York City Common Ground model, have been adopted by Common Ground Queensland and used to implement a specialised supportive housing property and tenancy management approach at Common Ground Queensland. Common Ground Queensland recognises the need for a housing provider that specialises in supportive housing for people who have been chronically homeless.Supportive housing is a solution for ending homelessness for the most vulnerable people in Queensland. It offers a permanent alternative to rough sleeping and crisis accommodation.It offers permanent, affordable housing that is linked with dedicated, tailored support services that address the root causes of homelessness. Common Ground Queensland offers affordable housing to tenants who meet the eligibility requirements set out by the Department of Housing and Public Works. Common Ground Queensland aims to end homelessness in the communities in which we operate by creating supportive housing solutions through effective public, private, and community partnerships.
