Sisseton Wahpeton College (SWC) a non-profit tribal college of Sisseton, SD founded by the Sisseton Wahpeton Sioux Tribe in the northeastern side of South Dakota in 1979. With an average enrollment of 250 students, approximately 80% tribal members, SWC has set out to improve the educational gap of those living on the tribal reservation. Offering programs including; Dakota Language Studies, Building Trades, Early Childhood Development, Nursing, Business and Tribal Governance. Sisseton Wahpeton College's classroom sizes offer more one on one time, unlike larger colleges and universities. SWC also has a newly added Athletic Department, with a 3 year Northern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (NIAC) win for Men's Basketball and a 2 year win for Women's Basketball.
