It withdraws blood through a dual lumen cannula inserted into the jugular vein, enriches it with a high concentration of oxygen, removes CO2, and returns the enriched blood to rebalance patients' saturation levels and take the load off the lungs.The product is currently in a developmental stage and has not yet been tested or used in humans and has not been cleared/approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
