Software Foundation (Fiji) is a non-profit organisation which aims to provide support and awareness in the use and development of software in Fiji. The major focus of the foundation is on free open source software (FOSS). The foundation was established in September 2010 and registered as a non-profit organisation in April 2012.Aims of the Software Foundation are to:Increase computer literacy in FijiIncrease awareness and provide support in training, development and research in information and communication technologies (ICT) in Fiji.Build a close network of local and international experts Encourage Fiji software companies to compete and collaborate globally.Provide training and support and increase awareness on free-open source software (FOSS).Improve the education sector so that state-of-the-art knowledge of ICT is transmitted to our younger generation through teaching and research at tertiary level education.Provide free training and ICT support to the local community including the elderly and disabled.
