WHAT WE DOOur goal is to make it easier for anyone to safely and beneficially dispose of their old electronic devices. We aim to reduce e-waste by promoting the reuse of electronics instead of their ending up in a landfill. Through a qualified repurposing process, used devices are refurbished and distributed to people who would otherwise lack access to them.First, we collect old or unwanted electronics from Seattle residents. We securely transport these devices to Interconnection, a reputable Seattle-based organization. Interconnection will then distribute these devices to low-income families and students.WHY?In 2015 alone, according to the EPA, the U.S. added 3.09 million tons of electronic waste to landfills. That's the equivalent of more than 2,000,000,000 (two billion) laptops.According to the Mother Jones article iWaste, 70% of toxic waste in the U.S. comes from electronics. If, instead of being discarded, electronic devices are reused, they can benefit people instead of polluting the environment.HOW TO DONATEWe make donating as easy as possible for you. Before we come pick up your device or devices, however, make sure any photos, documents, or other data you would like to keep is copied onto a different device and deleted from the original device.Once your device is ready to go, set up a pick-up date that works for you by emailing, calling, or texting us. You can find our contact info on the Contact page or at the bottom of this page.CONTACT USPhone(206) 659-8984Emaildevengoel@repurposeelectronics.orgcarterschafer@repurposeelectronics.orgdhruvgoel@repurposeelectronics.org
