Help A Child to Study Project is an Initiative of the Somaiya Vidyavihar Trust, since 2001.Services provided to Students from Poor Financial Backgrounds include,- Scholarships for Higher Education - SSC onwards for 11th and 12th std, Graduation and Post Graduation, Diploma and such courses.-Text Books and Laptops for some Engineering students to use on a Rotational Basis.- Additional Skill Building Activities for Final Year Students- Resume making, Personality Development, Language Development, Grooming.Areas : Mumbai Centre (has Nursing students and students from HIV affected families), North Karnataka (Sameer Wadi), Ahmednagar.Programme Structure :We have a Structure for giving Scholarships, by conducting proper Screening of Applications, Interviews, Homevisits and Tracking of each student.We have a Help A Child team at the locations to oversee the whole programme.We were able to cater to costs of 809 students last year.
