The Hong Kong Bach Choir is recognised as Hong Kong's leading classical chorus. Boasting more than 100 singers, The Choir presents 2 seasons of concerts annually with The Hong Kong Bach Orchestra under the baton of Jerome Hoberman.Maestro Hoberman has been the Choir's and Orchestra's Music Director since 1992. A strong advocate of new music, Hoberman has given many significant first performances. Under the maestro, The Choir frequently performs works rarely heard in Hong Kong and regularly collaborates with emerging young artistes. The Choir has also collaborated with the RTHK String Quartet in Lingnan University's Concerts@Lingnan series. In 2016, The Choir sang the world première of Urrows' The Martyrdom of St. Cecilia to great reviews and enthusiasm. In celebration of the 50th Anniversary of its founding, The Choir will perform the Hong Kong première of Bach's St Mark Passion in June 2019.
