The Wings of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation was founded in 1995, when Calgarian Diana Kalef recognized a need among breast cancer patients for help with the cost of everyday living expenses and medication. What began out of concern for family and friends who were living with the disease has evolved into a foundation that has helped hundreds of women in Calgary.Wings of Hope is a registered charity and is entirely volunteer-based. We offer a unique kind of support to breast cancer patients living in Calgary. We do not fund research. Instead, we provide money to qualified, low income breast cancer patients for basic living expenses. We also support initiatives that are designed to help women heal from breast cancer.More than $1 million dollars has been raised over the past five years and more than 95 percent of all proceeds are directed towards the local initiatives we support, ensuring the foundation's efforts help as many women as possible.
