Singing Out is Toronto's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer Community Chorus. We are a mixed-voice, non-auditioned chorus – a relative rarity in LGBTQ communities across North America. But Singing Out is more than just a choir. Above all, Singing Out is a community. Our mission is PRIDE. MUSIC. BELONGING. We are proud of who we are, of our history, and of our accomplishments. We show our pride through music that entertains as it speaks to us and about us, to our audiences, and to the wider community. We create a warm and welcoming space where everyone who enjoys singing and learning can find a place to belong and have fun. We welcome different levels of experience, as well as diverse backgrounds and identities. We sing together, and we sing out.Musically, we cover everything from the sacred to the silly, in many different styles (pop, showtunes, classical, folk, jazz) and languages. We do not require an audition to join, although some "voicing" may be necessary to determine which section (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Baritone or Bass) best fits your vocal range, if you aren't sure.
