The UAB School of Engineering is an ABET-accredited engineering school located in Birmingham, Alabama. Other graduates work in traditional engineering jobs as well as in academia, research, and corporate leadership positions worldwide.Other highlights:--For the past two years, the Department of Biomedical Engineering, a joint department between the UAB Schools of Engineering and Medicine, has ranked fourth in the nation in NIH funding. <--The Center for Materials Processing Applications and Development (MPAD) is a 20,000 square-foot state-of-the-art facility dedicated to advanced composites and metal-castings research, which provides opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration for partners within the university as well as outside industry.<--The Engineering and Innovative Technology Development (EITD) research group provides research and development work to NASA and other partners in contracts of up to $50 million per year in projects that support space transports as well as research on the International Space Station.
