Closed Pulse Irrigation (C.P.I.) is typically first used in the initial debridement and irrigation of a chronic or acute open wound. It is particulary advantageous when there is a significant amount of necrotic material or bacterial biofilm contamination. C.P.I. serves as an alternative to surgical debridement which can be costly and painful. The following wound types are well suited for C.P.I. -1.) Pressure ulcers.2.) Diabetic foot ulcers.3.) Venous stasis ulcers.4.) Tunneling wounds.5.) Infected surgical sites (SSI's).6.) Contaminated traumatic wounds.7.) MRSA wounds. The C.P.I. system can cost effectively remove one of the most harmful impediments to normal wound healing, "THE BIOFILM". The C.P.I. system safely and effectively removes "The Biofilm' from the surfaces of open and tunneled wounds. C.P.I. eliminates any need for surgical operation rooms, anesthesia, or specialized treatment room while performing the Pulse Irrigation Treatment.
