METAdrasi – Action for Migration and Development, is a Greek NGO founded in 2010 that focuses on services not covered by the Public Authorities or other NGOs in Greece and is the only organization that retains a permanent front-line presence in all key entry and exit locations. METAdrasi operates mainly in the following four axes: a/ training of interpretation and provision of interpratation services in order to enable vital communication with refugees and migrants, b/ protection of unaccompanied children through a comprehensive safety net of activities including transit accommodation facilities, safe escorting from border locations to permanent accommodation facilities and the pioneering activities of guardianship and foster families, c/ protection of vulnerable groups through the provision of legal aid to asylum-seekers, identification and certification of victims of torture, accommodation and support to single parent families and humanitarian aid material collection and distribution and d/ education and integration of refugees and migrants by offering a tailored educational program for children, Greek language lessons and work placement opportunities for adults and by developing innovative educational material for teaching or learning Greek as a foreign language.
