Habitat is a people-to-people organization forming partnerships with community leaders, builders, suppliers, volunteers and Family Partners; and together, providing simple, adequate and affordable housing to families caught in the vicious cycle of poverty .Through volunteer labour and donations of money and materials, Habitat builds and rehabilitates simple, decent houses with the help of the homeowner (partnering) families.The ReStore is our biggest fundraiser! Through the donation of gently used appliances, building materials, decor and more; our ReStore sales cover 100% of the administration costs. Leaving additional funds and any financial donations to go 100% to the build!Volunteers are vital to our mission to build affordable housing for Partner Families and you help to divert materials from our landfills. Volunteering at Habitat ReStores is fun and makes a big difference to our community. We have shifts that can fit your busy schedule, for individuals or for your group.
