Light Art Collection Ltd. is a subsidiary of the Amsterdam Light Festival Foundation, a foundation that develops light festivals since 2012. Over these years, we have built the largest light art collection in the world by asking artists to create works for our festival. With Light Art Collection, the Amsterdam Light Festival supports her affiliated artists by showcasing their works again globally after the Amsterdam edition. Herewith we serve three purposes: the artist gains international recognition and acclaim as well as receiving another honorarium, the hosting city utilises our expertise of displaying light art exhibitions, and the Amsterdam Light Festival earns back a part of the production costs, which funds are then fully committed to creating new art works. The success of the Amsterdam festival has resulted in our current endeavour building up festivals in three continents around the world. In this endeavour, we take care of all aspects: from curation, production, and transportation, to the construction and deconstruction of the exhibition. Light Art Collection reconditions the artworks after the Amsterdam festival, makes them travel-ready, and provides good storage and documentation. We visit cities, listen to local stories and curate the most suitable works and exhibitions for our clients. In making these recommendations, we always take the interest of the artist into consideration as well. We train and educate technicians to build up and program the works again independently. Our clients are located all around the world, but are currently largely focused in Europe, North-America, and Asia. Among our clients are mainly city marketers for middle-sized and large cities and real-estate administrators. Also museums and parks have shown large interest. Light Art Collection aspires to realise a large growth in the coming years, partly by maintaining a proactive approach to clients and the development of our works' global tours.
